Durbar festival is an age-long cultural heritage of northern Nigeria and celebrated in Ilorin, Kwara state, Nigeria on the day after the Islamic festival, Eid Al-Adha (Sallah Day). The annual festival is a celebration of the rich culture and heritage of the people of Ilorin Emirate with a parade of hundreds of beautifully decorated horses and glamorous costumes, centered on showcasing spectacular cultural displays, parade and music performances. The Durbar festival is open to everyone, be it an indigene of the city or not, Muslims or Christians, everyone is welcome at the Durbar festival. The festival is non-partisan and serves as a melting point for all, and also serves as a form of tourist attraction for foreigners from around the world.
